Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. turns Filipino children into readers through Step by Step.

Step by Step has five programs that work with communities, parents, and health and early childhood units to nurture Filipino children’s habit and love of reading, starting from the first 1000 days of life until graduation from daycare. It continues the practice that the foundation pioneered: partnering with local government units and integrating early reading programs into existing practices, resources, and systems. The goal is to equip learning partners with the tools and skills necessary to create communities of readers.

Unang Isang Libong Araw

Provides learning sessions and materials for parents and health care personnel on the first 1000 days of life in the areas of early health, nutrition, and stimulation.
Unang Aklat

Partners with the health care delivery system and staff of local government units to promote early reading among parents and introduce zero- to three-year-old children to books.
Read sa RHU

Conducts lectures on the importance of early literacy and trainings on effective storytelling for staff of rural health units. The program also provides age-appropriate reading materials for early readers who visit the health care facility.
Mahilig Kaming Magbasa

Promotes the value of early reading practices within communities through training of the child development workers and implementation of reading camp sessions.
Handang Magbasa

Equips parents and child development workers with the information, materials, and skills necessary to enhance the reading readiness skills of three- to four-year-old children.

Advisory

Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. recently renewed its Certificate of Accreditation from the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC).

PCNC is a private, voluntary, non-stock, non-profit corporation; and is a self-regulatory body of the NGO sector. Its chief purpose is to certify non-profit organizations that meet the established standards for good governance and management, and that demonstrate compliance with existing regulatory requirements.

AGFI received another 5-year accreditation, from December 6, 2023 up to December 5, 2028.
