Early Literacy Partnership with Samal, Bataan LGU

Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. and the local government unit of Samal, Bataan officially signed a memorandum of agreement anew on October 10, 2022.

Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. President Emelina Almario and Samal Mayor Alexander Acuzar led the signing of the memorandum of agreement.

The Foundation is determined to expand its Unang Isang Libong Araw and Unang Aklat programs in the municipality and support more healthcare workers and parents with zero to two-year-old children. Through the partnership, new learning partners will receive 30 USBs with 19 training videos, presentations, and manuals, and 2,150 reading materials on early health, early nutrition, and early stimulation.

Samal Rural Health Unit (RHU) Head Dr. Cristina Espino and RHU Nurse Queen Zabala expressed their gratitude to Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. for years of helping Samaleño children. Likewise, Mayor Alexander Acuzar thanked the Foundation for including Samal in its mission to promote early literacy. He assured his partners that the municipality will remain “committed and consistent.”

Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. receives a Certificate of Appreciation from the municipality of Samal.

To end the occasion, Councilor Erval Flores presented Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. President Emelina Almario with a Certificate of Appreciation. The municipal council passed a resolution recognizing the contributions of the Foundation in Samal.

Since 2013, Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. has reached 773 children and 764 parents, capacitated more than 50 healthcare workers, and given over 1,700 developmentally and culturally-appropriate reading materials. The Foundation looks forward to working together with one of the first municipalities that believed in its vision to turn every Filipino child into a reader.
